Why did you transfer to the University of Michigan?

I transferred to the University of Michigan from GRCC because, while GRCC provided me with an excellent education, I knew that I needed more than an Associate’s Degree to achieve my dream of attending Medical School. I chose the University of Michigan for its outstanding reputation in the Psychology Department, the incredible prep that it provides for Pre-Health students desiring to take the MCAT, and the extensive resources it offers. As a first-generation college student, I initially felt lost, but the Transfer Bridges to the Humanities program provided me with a personal mentor who guided me through the application process and helped ease my transition from GRCC to UMich. Once I was a part of this program and had peace of mind that my transfer process would be easier, I knew UMich was the place for me!

What are your career plans for the future?

My future career plans are to take a few years off after graduating this Winter to gather experience, and then apply to Medical School for a specialty in Psychiatry!

What are your hobbies?

  • Playing video games (pokemon go on campus)
