Hometown: Ann Arbor, Michigan (Ann Arbor is considered home to me, but I've lived all over! Hebron, Connecticut for the first half of my childhood, and Green Valley, Arizona for the second half! I've lived in Austin, Texas as well!)
Transfer Institution: Generations College in Chicago, Illinois
Major: Sociology & Social Work
Why did you transfer to the University of Michigan?
I transferred to the University of Michigan because of its exceptional status as a research institution and its #1 in the nation credentials for its School of Social Work. I want to make a difference in my community and I knew that the University of Michigan was the place I could grow and learn in order to make an impact! Also, shout out to Professor David Grassi at Generations College, a University of Michigan alum who encouraged me to apply!
What are your career plans for the future?
I would love to get my MSW and go on to law school, all here at the University of Michigan, where I can pave my own path in the intersection of law and social work, particularly immigration law and supporting migrants and underserved, vulnerable populations.
What are your hobbies?
I absolutely love to cook! I have been cooking since I was 12 - pretty much anything! I am a huge book nerd and always read whatever non-fiction book on social justice topics I can find! I also sing, enjoy hiking, exploring, and writing for fun whenever I can! I've been published a few times, and hope I can incorporate that love of writing into a hobby here on campus!
